What Is Express Entry?

Meaning of Express Entry: Express Entry is an online system that is used by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada to manage applications for permanent residence for skilled workers.

Eligibility Criteria: Currently there are three immigration programs under Express Entry by Federal government and each has different requirements. Following are the programs identified under Express Entry

  • Federal Skilled Worker Program
  • Federal Skilled Trades Program
  • Canadian Experience Class

Minimum requirements to be complied for this Program are:

  • Skilled work experience
  • Education
  • Language ability

Provinces and territories can also invite candidates from the Express Entry pool through the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) to meet local labour market needs of that province or territories.

There are few questions to be answered by an aspiring candidate in order to determine his/her eligibility in any one of the aforesaid programs. The questions are basically pertaining to following :

  • Nationality
  • Age
  • Language ability
  • Family members
  • Education
  • Work experience
  • Details on new job offer

The aforesaid questions are to be answered as accurate as they could be since Candidates eligibility depends on the answers provided.

Once the answers to aforesaid questions meets the basic criteria the candidate will be placed in a pool of candidates for immigration, and possibly invited to apply.
